Background of Peggy Broadbent

Peggy Broadbent has a BS degree from Wheelock College in Boston and an MS degree from Syracuse University both majoring in Early Childhood Education. She has taught cooperative nursery schools, had a private one of her own; taught many years of kindergarten, first, and second grades plus one year of a combined second and third grade class, and a little of fourth grade. Her favorites were combined first and second grade classes – the basis for this book, written during her retirement, explaining the programs she created.

Throughout the years, Peggy has presented numerous invited talks in courses at Syracuse University, at meetings of the New York State Reading Association, and given workshops for teachers.

Peggy studied English Education at the Froebel Institute in London, England and was accepted twice in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers
